The layout is still in a perpetual state of
construction. Here are some of the latest efforts under way.
The approach to the western end of the layout yard. Here the
main splits into two sections. The main continues along the front of the
bench work to hidden staging at the base of the stairs (not yet built)
The
inner track is the beginning of the yard throat. I also transition from Code
83 to Code 55, which is a mixture of Atlas and Micro Engineering.
The high line is the old B&O main which continues around the room,
eventually ending up at the eastern yard.. This loop allows for continuous
running.
Another view of the western end of the layout. The yard is
all code 55, some hand built and some Atlas turnouts. I will probably
replace all the hand built with Atlas #7 or higher # if and when when they
become available.
This is a corner section, a continuance of the B&O main
line. To the right of the picture is the origional MARRS module, which I
have no incorporated into the layout permanently. This is also the location
for the Digitrax command station .. hence all the wires.
Around the corner, the track goes back to single main, then
disapears into the tunnel, where it goes into a hidden (eventually)
downgrade single track 1.5% grade to the eastern (Baltimore) yard.
This area will be a lumber mill complex.
This is a part of the Baltimore yard area, under
construction. The trunouts are mainly #7 hand laid. Track is all code 55.
Tunnel which goes to a 1 loop helix that allows the trains
to access the B&O main for west bound direction.
Some more of the Baltimore yard under construction. I've
started to scenic portions. The retaining walls are cast from foam
masters out of Durhams Watter Putty.
