Caboose Page

Chessie C&O 903192 is an out of the box Atlas Extended vision caboose. It still needs to have MT Couplers added, and some weathering. There are several of these on the layout.

CSXT 903874 started life as something else. On the bottom of the frame is the word Atlas, so it must have come from their earlier releases. This car required some rework to get it close to being an International Car. I saw a caboose similar to this working the local at Jessup Yard, Md. I filled one of the windows, put brass wire stancions on the end and replaced the roof ends with a more International flavored squared end.

A couple of errors crept into the model .. the real B&O cabeese had 3 windows on one side. I failed to model those. Will try to do better next time.

C&O Chessie Safety Cabeese were made from some Bachman units I picked up at a garage sale. These are not anywhere close to prototype, but I had some decals laying around, so we painted them up and put some MT couplers on them. Not too bad an effect.  They look ok on the layout from a distanc.
